Treasury and Group Accounting Controller

My client is one of Europe's leading independent technology centres for the design, engineering, test and development of automotive and propulsion systems and currently require a Treasury and Group Accounting Controller to join them on a permanent basis. 


The Treasury and Group Accounting Controller will be responsible for the following: 

*Responsible for managing the team to achieve all month-end and year-end closing and all associated reporting deadlines 
*Responsible for identifying and implementing improved efficiencies within the Accounting Department 
*Responsible for processes and employees in the Accounting Department 
*Responsible for the quality and up to date data in the Accounting records and systems 
*Responsible for the compliance of financial statements with both local GAAP, local tax law and Group Accounting Standards (IFRS) 
*Responsible for the preparation of the year end statutory accounts for UK and Ireland 
*Responsible for Treasury: funding, payments, inter-company netting process, retail banking facilities, credit card services, reporting (e.g. cash flow forecast) and financial controls over cash and authorisations 
*Responsible for insurance matters 
*Responsible for managing in-house legal records (contracts database, statutory books and records) 
*Point of contact with auditors, legal and tax advisors, bank 
*Responsible for stock valuation and stock accounting 
*Leading and managing the accounting team 


The Treasury and Group Accounting Controller will need to have the following experience: 

*Professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or similar (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA) 
*Maintaining accounts in accordance, and updated with, local legal and Group requirements especially managing the transition from UK GAAP to IFRS 
*Planning and organisation of the workload within the Accounting Department 
*Team orientation and social skills - people development 
*Decision making 
*Communication skills 
*Analytical, process orientated, with strategic thinking abilities 
*Knowledge of financial accounting (UK GAAP essential/ IFRS preferred) 
*Problem solving 
*Ability to motivate 
*Full UK driving license 
*Willing to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check
