Group Management Accountant

A specialist insurance and reinsurance group is recruiting for a new role as Group Management Accountant. This position is UK based as part of the group's finance team with members across Europe. They are looking to strengthen the Finance Function in anticipation of growth following their recent acquisition by a Private Equity company.

The successful candidate will report to the Group Financial Controller and main responsibilities will be the production of management and regulatory reporting, treasury management and day to day accounting for the group's companies comprising of insurance companies in run-off, service companies and holding companies. There is also an expectation to participate and assist in monthly/year-end closings and internal and external regulatory reporting. Examples of additional duties are:

* Production of Group Quarterly Reporting Pack
* Reporting to regulatory authorities across different countries
* Accounting to trial balance for several companies within the group using SUN
* Managing Month end Deadlines
* Daily and monthly treasury management and reporting
* Producing meaningful and analytical Internal reporting to management
* Insurance technical accounting and reconciliations
* Preparation of statutory accounts
* Solvency II reporting
* Assisting in Tax computations and VAT Returns
* Participation in the group finance team and being in daily contact with your colleagues across Europe
* Willingness to travel as required

This job offers an excellent opportunity to a person who has good knowledge of financial accounting but wanting to also develop areas of management reporting.

* Relevant qualifications (ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent) and ideally at least 2 years post-qualification experience or equivalent in the insurance or financial services sector
* As a person you are accurate, communicative and able to work under pressure
* You are familiar with Microsoft Office programs and are willing to learn new skills.
* Knowledge of Sun Systems would be an advantage
