In addition to teaching on existing course units, you will also have the opportunity to offer specialist teaching at undergraduate level, and to supervise MA and PhD students. You will have a strong record of research in the field of European history in the nineteenth century, with research outputs appropriate to career stage and compatible with inclusion in our submission to REF 2020. You will play an active part in one or more of the department's research groups and in its broader research activities.
You will be expected to have a track record in attracting external sources of research funding and/or have a clear plan for future grant applications. We are especially interested in encouraging applications from candidates whose research interests map onto one or more of the following research groups: political cultures, humanitarians in history, the cultural history of war and/or embodied emotions.
