BUSINESS ANALYST – Accounting & Supply Chain

Offering a salary of £30,000 to £35,000

We are working with a Retail Import organisation and seeking to recruit aBUSINESS ANALYST with strong commercial awareness, negotiation and project management skills, who is proactive, self motivated, organised and diligent, able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.


The BUSINESS ANALYST, will be responsible for approving costs and monitoring and analysing achieved margins and supplier cost structures and understanding and managing stock levels. Reporting into the Financial Director and working closely with the Product/Category Managers, Procurement department and Logistics Coordinator.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a clear understanding and experience of working in Business Analysis, be educated to Degree Level with a qualification in Accountancy. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential for this role along with managing relationships with internal departments, colleagues and customers building strong working relationships.

Role responsibilities will include;

1. Review product costing schedules produced by/for category managers and approve prior to customer offer/supplier order being made. Ensure that records of all orders made are kept and that supplier relationships are managed by the category managers.

2. Contribute to the season plan to ensure that a cohesive and relevant range is provided to the customers at prices that will provide an agreed margin for the UK Business.

3. Ensure that the Logistics department is supplied with a consolidated range plan for all categories to provide price guides, plan space and resource requirements.

4. Develop and produce reports and management information using the database system to ensure that margin is achieved as planned and to highlight any areas of risk in time to take action.

5. Recognise and report on trends from reports and ordering data and develop replenishment plans with the category managers.

6. Ensure that category managers monitor and manage their suppliers and keep end customers and the Logistics department informed of any stock delivery delays.

7. Review the warehouse stock holding figures with the category managers and liaise with the Logistics Manager and UK General Manager to ensure that stock is kept current and adheres to agreed stock turn KPIs.

8. Once stock has reached an agreed age, work with the Logistics Manager to clear it at the best possible margin.

9. Liaise with the Logistics department to ensure that suppliers conform to the company requirements, including CBM, Carton Labels, Packing Lists, Booking in procedures and carton wastage.

10. Support the development and implementation of new supply chain solutions.

11. Work across all departments, IT and Logistics and warehousing, to constantly review processes and procedures to become more efficient and to improve data accuracy.
