Act as a Finance business partner to the leadership teams across the new Legal organization (former Legal, General Counsel and Company Secretariat) and related investments. A global role with cost management responsibility to drive investment appraisal processes, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes, financial control processes and efficiency agenda.
Business Partnering
* Demonstrate a deep rooted understanding of the businesses you support
* Partner with the business to provide commercial insight on the cost base and way of optimising and understanding underlying drivers of cost
* Anticipate the impact of environmental and business factors on the cost base and use this insight to prompt the appropriate discussions and decision making
* Drive delivery of agreed budgets and targets and ensure alignment with the strategic objectives of the businesses you support
* Help facilitate conversations between the businesses you support and other areas of the organisation. For example, in working to effectively manage support costs such as Property and Technology spend
Business Performance and Cost management
* Manage the overall delivery of financial processes, including reporting, budgeting and forecasting
* Ensure the delivery of effective cost performance and reporting to the stakeholders
* Provide financial guidance and support to the business ensuring a robust financial control environment and conformance with Group Accounting Policies and related International Accounting Standards
* Work with the business to ensure that their cost management and forecasting (including risks and opportunities) processes are working effectively
* Ensure the businesses adhere to the investment governance framework and fully understand the requirements. Help navigate them through Group requirements
* Manage processes to capture investment activity as well as saves and efficiencies providing baseline for reporting and measurement
Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
* Drive operational excellence and maximizing efficiencies to create capacity
* Support appropriate Finance change agenda to maximize benefits for the function
People Agenda
* Provide best in class support to the Legal leadership team, Regional and Country network for the businesses, Group Business Performance, Finance Shared Service Centre and Country Finance
Profile
* A qualified accountant, likely to have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in finance roles, preferably on cost management
* A driver of change, with demonstrable experience of continuous improvement
* Independent thinker, able to voice opinions and present arguments based on facts / data to build support and deliver results
* Strong stakeholder management abilities and communication skills
* Capacity to think creatively and laterally; excellent reasoning skills and the ability to make sound judgments
* An eye for detail and accuracy with a strong analytical capability
* Ability to accommodate ambiguity
Job Offer
* Base Salary from £55,000 to £70,000 for the right candidate
