Management Accountant (Maternity Cover)

Overview:

* Responsibility over Warranty / Protect accounting and financial control for Group including accuracy of financial information and product set-up. Analysis of financial data and performance, production of internal and external reports, Warranty / Protect account reconciliations and fund statements.

* Intercompany accounting and reconciliation for Group and UK and Irish entities.

* Assisting Group reporting requirements and monthly or quarterly uploads as required for entities UK and Irish entities

Responsibilities:

Warranty & Protect

* Scheme performance review and forensic investigation working closely with Head of Accounting, Business Controller and Finance Analyst.

* Finance representative for Warranty / Protect system user group forum's and ensuring integrity and effectiveness of system architecture and further developments from a finance perspective.

* Confirm PE set-up accuracy. Scheme and Relations set-up in Agresso for all Warranty/Protect products.

* Work with finance, sales, client support, underwriting and operation areas to ensure integrity and reliability of internal financial information and processes for both internal and external clients.

* Prepare monthly Fund statements to be reviewed by Head of Accounting and distributed to internal and external clients.

* Responsibility for Warranty & Protect Balance Sheet accounts and reconciliations to be included in monthly pack.

* Assisting as required with the review and posting of Protect / Warranty journals for Service and Insurance companies to include Sales Ledger and General Ledger premium releases and claims journals.

General Accounting

* Ongoing review, reconciliation and posting of intercompany accounts for all three entities.

* Work with Accounts Receivable and General Ledger teams to ensure accuracy of all intercompany postings.

* Assisting with or ownership of production of Group entities monthly, quarterly and annual accounts as per internal and Group requirements. This includes IFRS, Dimension reporting and other schedules as determined by Head of Accounting.

* Other ad hoc reconciliations and reports as required.

Communication

* Attend Department meetings as and when required.
* Liaise with the account managers, underwriters, client support and business development managers.
* Take an active part in Team Meetings scheduled throughout the year.

Training

* To advise your Manager of any areas of work for which you require any additional training.
* Completion of accountancy studies in line with training contract.

* To work as a member of a team within the quality system and follow all documented quality procedures and instructions.

Key Performance Areas

* To work towards achieving 100% on all Company, departmental, team and individual key performance targets.

Appraisals

* Participate and contribute towards individual annual appraisals, team meetings and regular one-to-one assessment sessions.

General

* To manage or assist with relevant ad-hoc projects as required by the Head of Accounting and/or Head of Finance.

* Complete all appropriate administration.

Regulatory

* To work within and be compliant at all times with all relevant regulations and legislation applicable to the role.

Skills and Qualifications required:

Part qualified CIMA or ACCA

At least 3 A levels grade B+, or equivalent.

A sound understanding of integrated accounting systems.

High level system skills including Excel.
