Assistant Finance Manager - Business Partner

My client based in South Devon is currently looking to recruit an assistant Finance Manager/Business Partner who has the drive, commitment and enthusiasm to deliver consistently high performance as the unit continues on its impressive growth trajectory.

Supporting the Finance Manager you will provide the senior management team with the advice, information and expertise to support their delivery of the unit’s strategic plan. You will have proven management experience with a solid background and understanding of a manufacturing facility. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to lead and motivate a small supporting team, whilst providing that vital support to our senior management team. You will have experience of budget management, good data analysis capability and possessing excellent IT skills along with the ability to manage within a constantly changing environment.

You will assist the Finance Manager in the implementation of the strategic direction of the finance function so that it is able to set challenging objectives for the future in response to ever changing and developing needs. You will act as Deputy to the Finance Manager and will assist/lead on a variety of operational areas including:

• Act as a business partner for the Senior Managers providing complex analysis to support the Senior Manager in complex decision making.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring of agreed KPI's, highlighting gaps and agreeing corrective actions
• Provide expertise on margin management, understanding key trends and levers. Enhance the skill set of commercial, operational and quality teams.
• Provide full visibility of P&L to unit board and senior management as required. Same to departmental teams to ensure the correct decisions are made on a full cost basis.
• Develop activity based management systems to support the unit to understand better its costs and cost drivers.
• Build forecasts and Budgets in conjunction with commercial and supply chain teams, ensuring that operational and quality constraints are complied with.
• Implementing a unit wide ERP system.

The successful applicant will be a CCAB / CIMA Qualified Accountant with significant experience of working at a senior level in a complex organisation requiring knowledge, experience and expertise in both management and financial accounting. You will have the ability to influence colleagues at all levels whilst ensuring that relationships remain positive and that goals are achieved along with a demonstrable ability of providing and presenting complex information to gain co-operation and commitment throughout the unit.
